We are committed to the well-being of the communities in influence areas, even more so in a context of a sanitary emergency, our subsidiary in Peru carried out a donation campaign of food baskets with essential products for about 2,500 families in the communities of Nuevo Chao, Valle de Dios, Chao, El Inca, El Tizal, Buena Vista, Salaverry, among other areas in Chao, in La Libertad region, which are experiencing a vulnerable situation.

“As an agribusiness, we are committed to the fight against COVID-19. Not only we are creating formal and decent work positions, with benefits, but we are also a socially responsible company, and sustainability is a strategic pillar in our business. Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have been fighting back by carrying out activities for our communities in order to mitigate the effects of this crisis in the region“, said Juan Luis Lazarte, Human Resources and Sustainability Manager at Hortifrut Peru.

Food baskets were also given to different institutions in the communities of La Libertad. Among them, the Chao and Nuevo Chao Association of Older Adults, Nuevo Chao Health Post, Chao Catholic Church, and 5 soup kitchens in Salaverry. It should be noted that our support to these five soup kitchens in Salaverry allowed to offer food to over 400 daily guests for 15 days.
