As a way to strengthen our commitment to the community and within the framework of our social responsibility policies, we assisted families in rural areas that have been affected by the pandemic.
With the assistance of the ONG Desafio Levantemos Chile and Hortifrut’s co-workers, we managed to distribute 500 boxes of non-perishable food items and 27,560 lbs (12,500 kg) of potatoes. Additionally, we distributed 150 kits of personal protective elements such as masks, gowns, gloves, and face shields for the front-line staff of rural hospitals and health center in the area of La Araucania, as a way of contributing to the prevention of COVID-19 among the personnel that treats the rural communities in the areas near Hortifrut’s operations.
The supplies were delivered at Consultorio Andrea Sandoval Calderon Los Laureles medical station, Cesfam Huiscapi, Posta San Ramon health post, Padre Las Casas area, Centro de Salud Familiar Huequen health center, and Posta Virquenco health post.
We are thankful and we emphasize the commitment of those who participated in this cause, who mobilized to provide timely help to those who need it the most.
